Accounts Apprentice – Northants

JPP are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our business support team as an Accounts Apprentice assisting the Finance Director in providing finance support to the Senior Management and technical teams across the whole of the Group.

Location:  Whilton, Daventry

Position Type:  Permanent

Hours of work:  Monday to Friday (hours to be agreed)

Salary:  Competitive salary (pro-rated to hours worked)

As an Accounts Apprentice, part of your role will involve assisting in the day to day financial activities included in the responsibilities listed below.  You will be supported by the group through an appropriate study package.

The position is a full time post based at our Daventry office.

Duties and responsibilities will include;

 Purchase invoice processing and purchase orders for companies within the group

• Processing sales invoices and maintaining credit control
• Reconciling sales and purchase ledgers and providing analysis
• Reconciling supplier statements and contact with any queries
• Assisting in accounts payable
• Providing assistance to the Finance Director
• Dealing with any accounts related general enquiries
• Reconciling bank accounts
• General book keeping activities
• Responding to e-mails within the general accounts email
• Assisting with general administrative duties including answering telephones, meeting and greeting visitors, filing and archiving and providing cover for other members for the Business Support team.

This is not an exhaustive list of duties and additional tasks may be required as part of this supporting role to enable the smooth running of the business.  A flexible team player, you should be willing to assist colleagues in all areas of the business.

You should have strong communication skills, be hardworking, organised and confident with good attention to detail, be able to prioritise your workload whilst working on your own initiative as well as part of a team.

Trainee Civil and Structural Technician – Poole

This is an opportunity to join JPP as a Trainee Civil and Structural Technician in our Poole Office and help grow and develop our structural and civil engineering capabilities on a range of projects.

Salary: Competitive (subject to experience)
Full time position with potential to undertake a university degree on a part time day release basis.

Main role and duties
• Under supervision and support from experienced engineers and technicians, the role utilises and applies BIM (Building Information    Modelling) techniques throughout all stages of the project. This predominantly includes production of CAD and Revit drawings.
• Revise and update models/drawings as required.
• Work within an established design team on a range of commercial, educational and residential projects, providing technician support in all aspects. Assist in team design reviews in order to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations to resolve problems
• Work with other teams to obtain information for drawings.
• Responsible for controlling quality of their drawings and other key deliverables.
• Co-ordination with senior technicians to ensure consistent standards are provided.
• Read and understand 2D and 3D drawings.
• Comply with company design, safety, quality, environmental compliance and procedural standards.

Experience, qualifications and attributes
• Strong GCSE results applicable to the role, which will include Maths, English and Sciences.
• Strong A-level results applicable to the role, which would ideally include Maths and Science(s).
• Strong IT knowledge and skills.
• AutoCAD and Revit knowledge desired, but not essential as training will be provided.
• Be keen to work on a variety of project types and learn new skills to meet the needs of our clients.
• Must have strong communication skills, being confident to liaise with colleagues as well as occasionally liaising with clients on the phone.
• Would be expected to be pro-active in self-directed CPD and keep up to date with appropriate standards and regulatory legislation.

Successful candidates may be considered for a part-time degree course funded by JPP.
• Would ideally hold a full clean driving licence or working towards it.
• Must be prepared to travel UK wide and stay away from home on occasions.

Graduate to 3+ years’ experience Geo-environmental Engineer – Northants

An opportunity to join JPP Geotechnical & Environmental Ltd as a Geo-environmental Engineer as part of our growing team based in our Whilton Locks, Northamptonshire office.

Main role and duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting and managing ground investigation work across the UK as directed by the Senior Engineers. More specifically you will be:

• Working with and to become a geotechnical professional
• Working both outside and office based throughout the year
• Applicants will be expected to work on site in varying locations around the UK
• Soil and rock logging to current geotechnical standards, including laboratory scheduling
• Participating in a variety of geotechnical and geo-environmental projects for both external clients and for other teams within JPP
