JPP have completed a ground investigation for Linden Care Homes at a former factory site which was recently demolished to floor slab level.
The ground investigation comprised of trial pitting with an excavator and the installation of ground gas and groundwater monitoring wells. A historic works building had been present on site for nearly 100 years and therefore the site was considered to have a high risk of contamination. JPP tested for a range of contaminants included metals, metalloids, PAHs, petroleum hydrocarbons, VOCs and asbestos.
During the post fieldwork monitoring visits to site, groundwater samples were collected by our technician and tested for contaminants. There was some contamination present and therefore a remediation strategy was written for the site and submitted to the local authority to discharge planning conditions.
