JPP is providing Civil and Structural Engineering services for this ambitious project.
The Sikh Temple is a purpose built 3 storey Gurdwara in Bedford with over 1200m² of new floor space. The aim of this project is to accomodate the different needs and wishes of the community, resulting in a building to be proud of.
The design of the temple’s interior is modern in layout, construction and technology in order to be both comfortable and flexible. Reference to the birthplace of Sikhism are evident throughout. The tones and colours of the temple, along with the gold coloured modern cladding on the two-storey block, reflect the Golden Temple in Amritsar and traditional Gurdwara buildings.
Many thanks to Milton Keynes based Stenton Obhi Architects for the information and images.
