Our Structural and Civil Engineering design supported Trinity Architecture with this award winning scheme of three prestigious flats positioned in Sandbanks, enjoying breath taking views of Poole Harbour. The scheme won the Best Residential Development category in Dorset for developers Towncourt Homes in the 2016-17 UK property awards.

The structural solution compromised a reinforced concrete flat slab approach with blade columns to minimise impact on the building layout. Achieving the required architecture was a significant challenge as many of the load bearing elements could not be lined through vertically. Utilising Revit 3D modelling software enabled a full loading analysis of the building and accurate design of all transfer elements using finite element modelling.

A key consideration in material selection and detailing was durability and thermal efficiency given the buildings exposed location.
