JPP Surveying’s latest purchase of 2 x Trimble R12i takes our investment in new technology during the year to over £100k.
The R12i’s inbuilt IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) has provided what can only be described as exceptional performance even during the first week’s familiarisation. The IMU continuously determines position & rotation and corrects for any amount of tilt – now instead of having to ensure the levelling bubble is spot on, observations can be determined at the base of the pole inclined at any angle to reach previously in-accessible points. For large area surveys, where typically in excess of 1500 points could be recorded in a day, there are considerable time savings not having to methodically maintain verticality of the pole.
Our surveyors are having to adopt a different mindset to conventional surveying practice given the game changing increases in productivity provided by the R12i.
All hands on deck here at JPP!
We are excited to share that we have succesfully purchased a property and have planning permission to create a flagship JPP office here in Northampton.
Thank you to Matilda and Charlotte (with a little help from Group Director Ben Arnsby) for getting stuck in and starting the refit for us!
At our Brixworth office we baked cakes with a pink theme and sold them to raise money for ‘Breast Cancer Now’. We raised an amazing £87.70 for the charity! Special thanks to Charlotte Baldwin (sister of Technician Matthew) who baked a huge strawberry cake and lots of perfectly iced cupcakes for us to sell. We expect to see you on the Great British Bake Off in the future Charlotte!
Get in touch with us if you want to discuss the next step in your engineering career.
So proud of Becky Smith our Finance Assistant who has passed her Level 4 Management Accounting, Decision and Control Exam. 3 down and 3 to go! We are so proud of how hard Becky has worked to achieve this fantastic result.
We are excited to welcome Arthur, Phoebe and Marcus to JPP for work experience. Arthur is joining our Civil Engineers, Phoebe is lending her artistic eye to our marketing team and Marcus is crunching the numbers in Finance. We hope they enjoy their time with us and learn lots.
In memory of Nick Stairs, who sadly lost his battle to myeloma, a team from JPP Consulting will be running the Spartan Race, a half marathon obstacle course to raise money for Myeloma UK.
Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma. They provide information and support to patients and their families and help myeloma patients live longer, with a better quality of life by accelerating the discovery, development of and access to new treatments.
Nick was a long standing Director at JPP, and a big part of the company. Any money raised for this amazing charity that helped Nick and his family would be greatly appreciated by JPP and all that had the pleasure of knowing and working with Nick.
Nick’s nephew will be joining team JPP for the Spartan Race.
They will be running the race on the 16th July – hopefully enough time to get in shape!
Please help them reach above and beyond their target by donating at the link below!
Wish them luck!
