I am well on the way to achieving my goals.
I joined JPP as a Graduate Engineer in 2023 after I had completed my Physical Geography BSc from the University of Liverpool. I wanted to apply my knowledge of geology to real-world scenarios and develop my skills in a related profession and, being a Graduate Engineer at JPP, has helped me to get well on the way to achieving this goal by working with knowledgeable, helpful, and experienced members of staff, along with CPD opportunities. After 18 months of on-site and report writing experience, I can proudly say I am no longer a graduate and I am competent in organising and completing site work, logging and sampling a wide variety of soils and rocks, as well as writing reports efficiently and analysing data effectively.
The next steps are to continue learning and progressing to become a Senior Engineer and possibly even gain my chartership. I am continuing my CPD and independent study, I am an active member of the FGS, and I am taking on larger and more complex jobs in order to challenge myself. Thank you to Lydia Crawford, Anthony Paton and Darryl Kelly for their support. Fingers crossed for more challenges in the future.
It’s a collective effort to make sure everyone is developing.
I completed a Civil Engineering BSc at Nottingham Trent and joined JPP in 2021 as a Graduate Engineer. I have recently been promoted to Engineer and my current goals is to become a member of the ICE.
I enjoy working at JPP because there is always someone in the company with an answer to any questions you have. It’s a collective effort to make sure everyone is developing and gets more experience under their belt.
I am a STEM Ambassador and a member of our Social Committee so there are lots of ways to get involved professionally and socially.
My colleagues have helped me gain a lot of experience and useful knowledge.
I completed a Geography BSc at the University of Northampton, and joined JPP as a Graduate Engineer in 2023. I have recently been promoted and am now a Geoenvironmental Engineer. My current goals are to become a fellow of the Geological Society and to continue to gain further experience in my job role. My colleagues have helped me gain a lot of experience and useful knowledge around the construction and civil engineering sector and this helps me on a day-to-day basis in the office and out on site.
I enjoy working at JPP because you see projects that you have worked on get designed using your information. This helps me understand the other parts of the company and the overall construction sector.
I work closely with the University of Northampton and enjoy visiting to discuss my job role with students, showing them an alternative career path for those studying Geography or Environmental Science.
I am part of the Environmental Committee at JPP, which is just one of the many ways you can get involved within the business.
