JPP Consulting
Danny Barber
BEng (Hons)

JPP paid for my University fees so I have no student debt.

I joined JPP in October 2013 as a Technician and am now a Senior Engineer with a BEng (Hons) from Coventry University. I completed my degree alongside work which allowed me to earn a wage whilst completing my studies. JPP paid for my University fees so I have no student debt. JPP, and in particular our Group Directors Ben Arnsby and Phil Brown, have supported me throughout my studies and career.

I am currently working on my ICE Chartership with the goal of becoming a Chartered Engineer and leading my own team of Civil and Structural Engineers.

Florence Hudson

I enjoy feeling independent and productive.

Having a year out after I finished school made me realise that I like studying whilst earning money.

I enjoy feeling independent and productive, so my apprenticeship at JPP is the best combination of study and work. I get lots of support at work and at University which helps me progress. Once completed, I will have on the job experience and training as well as a degree which widens my knowledge.

I am working towards a BEng (Hons) at Portsmouth University which is accredited by the ICE. After I graduate I can apply for IEng and then start to develop and progress my ICE membership. I am looking forward to working on projects with more responsibility and be involved in different aspects of design.

EngTech MICE MCIHT

I am now a Director which shows that there is no limit to what you can achieve.

I started my career with JPP as an Apprentice in 2007.  The company paid for my degree at Coventry University and I completed a HNC in Civil Engineering whilst I worked part time getting ‘on the job’ experience. I went on to become a Technician Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Member of The Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation.

I am now a Director responsible for leading all of JPP’s infrastructure teams; specialising in the design of large residential schemes, affordable housing, industrial projects and commercial developments.

I began my career as an Apprentice and am now a Director which shows that there is no limit to what you can achieve.

The journey of an Apprentice varies from person to person so follow the career path that best suits you.  JPP is experienced in supporting Apprentices from Trainee to Director.

JPP Consulting’s involvement was to provide structural engineering design and detailing to facilitate the inclusion of a double storey height glass box extension to the rear of the adjacent museum. The glass box has structural glass fins both providing lateral support to the elevations and vertical support to the glass roof panels. The glass extension sits on a new basement structure with the glazed box tying back to a discrete three storey steel frame structure constructed up through the basement and around the perimeter of the previous double storey height glazing adorned the existing rear elevation of the museum.78 Derngate, set in the centre of Northampton, is the only house in England designed by Scottish architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh. #structuralengineering #designanddetailing #glassextension #CharlesRennieMackintosh #museum #NorthamptonImage credit – Richard Ellis ...
