I joined JPP in 1997 as a Graduate Engineer and was invited to join the Board of Directors in 2011. I became Group Director in 2018 and now oversee all of our teams. I specialise in highway and drainage designs with a particular interest in the continued development and improvement of our BIM capabilities. I manage our ICE Approved training schemes for staff progressing to membership.

I joined JPP Consulting in 1999 as a Trainee Technician, but with the ongoing support of my peers I continued through university obtaining a first-class degree in Civil and Structural Engineering, before becoming a Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Structural Engineers. My expertise in Structural Engineering has enabled me to develop a varied client base, contributing to the growth of the company, which has allowed me to progress through the ranks to position of Group Director.

In my current role as Director within JPP Geotechnical and Environmental Ltd, I help to deliver and oversee a wide range of geotechnical and geoenvironmental site investigations across the UK to assess feasibility of sites for a wide range of developments from residential to commercial and sports.

My role includes the production and review of detailed Phase I and Phase II Interpretative reports as well as a range of detailed groundwater risk assessment reports (T1, T2 and T3 reports) to support future developments.

I have been at JPP since the conception of the Geotechnical and Environmental department at the start of 2018.

I graduated from the University of Leeds studying Geography and Geology 2012 and then completed the Engineering Geology MSc at Leeds which finished in September 2013.

From my sporting background I have gained valuable knowledge in the areas of teamwork, intra-personal skills and leadership. All of which I believe are essential to business.

I am a keen and practical engineer, who prides himself on being able to balance the sometimes very scientific side of my profession with other very important factors such as buildability, and not least economy. A strong background in different disciplines gained over my time in the industry means I am able to confidently deal with various aspects of a single scheme, and provide clients with the single point of contact which JPP as a company always aim for.

I am a motivated team leader, passionate about getting others involved in all aspects of engineering.  I have the ability to converse with the general public, contractors, clients and other professionals, and clearly explain what issues are being faced and how to resolve them, allowing all parties to draw together to achieve the common goal.

Starting out in Structural Engineering, my career was founded on engineering design, detailing and investigation of buildings and infrastructure. This growing over time to encompass multi-discipline public and private sector consultancy across a range of property and infrastructure asset management and design services. This led to nine years as a Director leading property teams within a multinational property consultant.

In the three years prior to joining JPP, I took a break from consultancy to experience contracting, joining a regional civil engineering and building contractor as Pre-construction Manager. Valuable experience gained from the other side of the fence.

Early in my career I obtained Incorporated Engineer status with the Institution of Structural Engineers followed later by Chartership with the Institution of Civil Engineers, also gaining a NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (with Distinction) along the way.

I lead our Development Planning division and over the past 20 years I have been extensively involved in developing integrated land-use and transport planning strategies at numerous developments throughout the UK.  My client portfolio is diverse, and I have successfully guided a range of private sector clients, including commercial interests within the residential, retail and business sector through the planning system.

I started my career with JPP as a Junior Technician in 2007.  After completing my HNC in Civil Engineering I went on to become a Technician Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Member of The Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation.

Now a Director,  I am now responsible for leading all of JPP’s infrastructure teams; specialising in the design of large residential schemes, affordable housing, industrial projects and commercial developments.

I am a highly motivated leader, experienced and conscientious engineer and appointed Director of JPP Geotechnical and Environmental at its inception in January 2018.  I bring a wealth of experience from various sectors including a wide range of project types from housing to schools, industrial and commercial redevelopments to multi-storey construction within central London and nationwide.

I consider it is key to liaise with clients, contractors and regulators at early stages and even at concept stage to review ground related potential abnormalities that could arise and determine the most cost effective and appropriate investigation strategy. I always like a challenge which the ground can often provide!

With the technical knowledge and experience of the geo team alongside the other JPP disciplines, we strive to provide a comprehensive consultancy service to attain cost effective and sustainable civil engineering solutions.

Outside of work, I have two young children who keep me busy. I enjoy hiking and skiing.

In 2022 I became an Associate Director at JPP and I am responsible for leading one of our infrastructure teams in Northampton specialising in design of medium to large residential schemes, affordable housing, industrial and commercial projects.

I joined JPP in 2016 and lead the Infrastructure Design team in the Milton Keynes office; specialising in the design of large residential schemes, affordable housing, industrial projects and commercial developments.

Working as part of our team in Poole, I bring a wealth of experience in both Civil & Structural Engineering ranging from new build, renovation and remedial repair of historic properties.

I became an Associate in 2019 and am part of the Development Planning team, which has continued to grow over the past few years. My role involves preparing Transport Statements / Assessments, Travel Plans, junction modelling, Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies.

I have been a STEM Ambassador since 2016 and represent both JPP and engineering at careers fairs at local schools. I am a member of the Institution of Environmental Sciences and the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation.

I am an Associate at JPP, currently working at our Poole office working on schemes ranging from large commercial warehouses to small domestic extensions.  I lead a team capable of providing a range of engineering services, including structural and external works designs.

As an Associate I run my own team with a focus on providing a complete and professional service. With my experience, my team are able to deliver practical and economical solutions with efficiency.

I have experience in a multi-disciplinary role across Structural and Civil Engineering from individual domestic properties to low rise commercial warehouse and industrial units.

Being one of the longest serving employees of the original John Parkhouse and Partners, I have over thirty years’ experience and have helped to progress the company to its current status within the JPP Group.

I am conscientious and pride myself on delivering a good quality service that invariably results in repeat business.
